LAW MUST PRREVAIL

'THE most significant statement made by the Prime Minister * (Mr. Holland) in the House of Representatives yesterday, was: “If our system of democracy is to survive, then the rule of law must prevail.” That is a clear indication that those who flout the law must be called to account, because they threaten the very civilisation we enjoy. Whether it be employer or worker man or woman, King or commoner, he who flouts the law threatens civilisation. It is possible for governments to make mistakes in judging right from wrong, but if a person, or a section of the people flout the law to make amends for a wrong, or fancied wrong, they stand indicted by eivilisation-the law must, prevail If it does not prevail civilisation as wc know it will have ceased to exist.
