Wanganui Trot Entries Close Next Monday

The principal events at the Wanganui Trotting Club’s annual meeting, to be held on the Wanganui racecourse on October 7 and 14, will each have a trophy attached. For the Wanganui Handicap on the opening day the stake is £4OO and in addition the owner will receive a. canteen of cutlery valued at £7O donated by the Phoenix Wine and Spirit Company. Ltd. On the second day a trophy valued at £3O, donated ( by Mr Thos. Mitchell, will accompany the winner's share of the £4OO stake in the Liverpool Handicap. The club has been promised support by light-harness enthusiasts as far afield as Auckland, Christchurch and Nelson, and when nominations close at 8 p.m. next Monday they should be found to be on a generous scale.
