MOVE TO BRIGHTEN RAILWAY STATION

The chambre has requested the Railways Department to repaint the Taihape station buildings and at the same time suggested that a brighter colour scheme should be used. As a result of this suggestion a request was received from the district engineer for suggestions from the chamber as to possible alternative colour schemes and in due course two such alternatives, either of which if adopted would, in the opinion of th e chamber, considerably brighten the appearance of the railway buildings, were sent to the engineer. So far nothing further has been heard from him, but the chamber is hopeful that the buildings will be repainted in one or other of these schemes in the near future.
