Soviet Wants U.S. Forces To Leave Formosa

NEW YORK. Sept. 2 (Reed 7.35pm> —The Soviet Union today asked the Security Council to condemn the "invasion of the island of Formosa by armed forces of the United States" as an act of aggression, and as intervention in the internal affairs of China. The request was contained in a draft resolution submitted to th e Secretariat by Mr Jacob Malik. The resolution also asked the Security Council to “propose" to the Government of the United States that it immediately withdraw all its air. sea and land forces from the island of Formosa, and from other territories belonging to China. Thp Security Council has adjourned till Tuesday.
