PATEA IRON SANDS SMELTED AT ONEKAKA WORKS

PARLIAMENT BLDGS., Sept. 1 (O.C.).—A major project in which the Dominion Laboratory assisted during the year was the smelting of Patea ironsands at Onekaka under the direction of overseas metallurgists, states a portion of the annual report of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research presented to Parliament by the Minister in Charge (Mr. Holyoake). The report states that many tons of Patea ironsands, which were developed into a concentrate, were used in the experiment.
