All Saints’ Mothers’ Union Meeting

The August meeting of the All Saints Mothers’ Union was conducted by the Rev. F. A. Keay and was very well attended. The-newly formed choir made Its first appearance. Members adjourned to the church hall, the door hostesses being Mesdames Sutcliffe, and Juli. The enrolling member, Mrs J. A. Shanks, extended a welcome to all, including a umber of visitors. Good wishes and flowers were sent to Mrs Davey, who is in hospital and also to Mrs. Walker. Mrs Boswell extended an invitation to ail to attend a social afternoon organised by the National Council of Women. The speaker for the afternoon was the Rev. A. B. Catley, conductor of the convention being held at Wangaui East, who gave a most interesting talk on life in a theological college. He took his listeners in thought to the need for more youths to come forward for training. His talk was enlivened by humorous side lights on the domestic side of the training and self-reli-ance of the students. Mrs E. Anderson expressed the appreciation of all present for Mr. Catley’s talk, saying how pleased they were that the meeting was held during Convention Week. The tea sostesses were Mesdames Kenward, Copley, Kurth, Fowler, Simmonds and Rummell.
