Wanganui District Nursing League; First Meeting For 1950

The Wanganui District Nursing League held its first meeting for 1950 recently. Mrs. A. Macnab presided. In her report, the District Nurse, Nurse Park, said that the patients were contented and well. At Christmas time the sum of £l7 was given to Sister Park to bring cheer and extra comforts to the patients. The £l7 was made up of £lO donation from the Mayor’s Relief Fund, and £7 from the league. Many letters of thanks and appreciation were received from patients for the remembrances of them at Christmas. During the recent cold weather £6 was spent on extra firing for the patients. An application for a grant from the T. G. McCarthy Trust Funds has been forwarded to Wellington. Reference was made to the death, which occurred recently, of Miss Fraser, a valued member of the league. Miss Fraser joined the league in 1934, and until recently, when her health failed her, she was very interested and active in all the work of the league. A message of sympathy was sent to the members of her family.
