AUCKLAND HARBOUR BOARD SECURES WAR-TIME STORES
AUCKLAND, April 18, (PA).—The sale to the Auckland Harbour Board of four war-time stores in the vicinity of the waterfront lias been recommended by the Commissioner of Works (Mr. E. R. McKillop) according to advice received by the board today. The buildings, erected during the war on board land, would double the port’s off-wharf storage. They are a large steel store east of the export wharf, two buildings in Halsey St. and a store on the North Wall in Freeman’s Bay. A price of about. £50,000 was arranged nine months ago but Government approval of sale has since been awaited. Mr. McKillop has stated that his recommendation for the sale is subject to Treasury negotiations over the steel store.
