SUGGESTIONS FOR ENDING COLD WAR TO BE CONSIDERED

WASHINGTON, March 22 (Recd. 7.sopm).—The Secretary of State, Mr Acheson, said today that he would give careful consideration to the suggestions of the United Nations SecretaryGeneral. Mr Trygve Lie, for ending the cold war.

Mr Lie, in putting forward yesterday a 20-year programme to win world peace by "give and take negotiations," suggested among other things the holding of periodic meetings of the Security Council at which Foreign Ministers or even heads of Governments could review the world situation.
