PERSONALS.
Mr. K. G. Mawson, who has been appointed chief librarian for the Wfmganui City Council, was extended a welcome by the Mayor of Wanganui, the Hon. W. J. Rogers, M.L.C., at last night’s meeting. Mr H. M. Keesing, whose death occurred recently, was referred to at a meeting of the Loyal Wanganui Lodge of the M.U.1.0.0.F. by the Noble Grand. He said that Mr Keesing had passed through the chairs of the lodge in 1927 and had become District Grand Master in 1929. He served as district secretary from 1931 to 1934 and was appointed trustee of the lodge in 1930, a position which he held until his death.
General A. W T. Orsborn, head of the Salvation Army, and Mrs. Orsborn, will arrive in Auckland on the Aorangi from Vancauver on March 14. Accompanying them will be the international secretary, Commissioner Joseph B. Smith, and General Orsborn’s private secretary, StaffMajor Hubert Goddard. General Orsborn will lead meetings throughout Nev/ Zealand. From March 16 to 22 he will conduct the annual congress at Wellington. He and Mrs. Orsborn will fly to Australia on April 18, where he will conduct Australian congresses at Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne. From there General Orsborn will go to Indonesia and Singapore. He expects to be back in England on June 11.
