Old Folks’ Association Christmas Party

A large attendance of members and friends which included the Mayor, Mr. Rogers and Mr. J. B. Cotterill, M.l-. and Mrs. Cotterill, filled the Wanganui Old Folks’ Association rooms on Wednesday afternoon for the annual Christmas party. They were welcomed by the president, Mr. A. Richards. During the afternoon both the Mayor and Mr. •Cotterill congratulated the association on the success of its activities in the city. Ice creams were distributed and at afternoon tea-time two Christmas cakes were cut. Items were given by the following: Old Folks’ choir, Master O'Connor (Highland dancing), Mrs. Triplow (songs) and the Westmere Women’s Institute drama circle, who presented a playette which had for its cast Mesdames F. Laird and Armstrong and Miss H. Scrymgeour.
