Children In Hospital And Institutions Will Have Xmas Treat

Children who are inmates of the Wanganui Hospital, the Gonville Sanatorium, the Wanganui Orphanage and the Margaret Watt Home are being liberally catered for this year. Numerous organisations have made the pre-Christmas week a veritable whirl of parties and outings for those who are able to enjoy them, and suitable entertainment, lias been provided for those confined to their beds. Father Christmas is expected to make his round of the various institutions where there are children on Christmas Day, and other pleasures have been arranged as well. At the hospital the children’s wards will be suitably decorated and gifts will be distributed from a Christmas tree. Similar arrangements have been made at the Gonville Sanatorium, jvhere the children themselves have undertaken the decorating of their wards and diningroom. Highlight of the day for children at the Wanganui Orphanage will be a broadcast from the orphanage of carols by the children on Christmas morning. Father Christmas will, of course, make a visit to the institution. Any children at the Margaret Watt Home on Christmas Day will be catered for, but so far no definite arrangements have been made.
