Workers To Decide For Themselves The Principle Of The "Closed Shop”
WELLINGTON, Last N?<ht (PA) —“The workers are going to have to decide that for themselves, and it will be interesting to see what their answer is,” said the Prime Minister (Mr Holland) at his Press conference tonight when he was asked what would be the attitude of the Government to the principle of the “closed shop” in the event of the ending of compulsory union membership. “We are out to promote harmony in industry, and to that end we will be careful to avoid taking any action which might disturb harmonious relations,” Mr Holland added.
