Mr. Holland Says The Future Looks Bright; Urges Optimism

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA). —There was no justification whatever for fears he had heard expressed that the change of Government would bring suffering to some people, said the Prime Minister (Mr. Holland) in the Town Hall, Wellington, tonight, when he spoke at a civic reception in his honour attended by 1500 people.

Since the election, he said, he had become aware that fears existed in the minds of far too many people that, there would be unemployment, pension cuts, overtime without pay, a 48-hour week and so on. “W e seek only to serve the people, not to dominate them, and to add to the sum of human happiness and security and the right to live your lives in your own way, having regard to the rights of others,'' lie emphasised. The Prime Minister also appealed to the public to avoid talking about a possible depression. Nothing could more quickly destroy economy, he said. The future looked promising and he and his colleagues saw many reasons for optimism and confidence.
