WOOL FOR FIRST SALE IN WANGANUI IS STILL BEING ACCEPTED
Wanganui wool brokers have not yet closed their lists for the first sale of the current season, which will be held in the Opera House on December 3. It is expected that entries for the sale will be taken until about the end of next week. Wanganui merchants also receive a large proportion of wool from the To Kuiti district every year, irrespective of whether there is congestion on the Auckland market or not. When the influx on the lists for the first sale is too great, merchants request the vendors to retain their en» tries until later sales. According to the Wanganui merchant, however, South Auckland merchants were obviously unaware that lists for the Wanganui sale were not filled, and he believed that the Auckland merchants considered their embarrassing position to he general. With such n great influx on their lists, he thought that South Auckland merchants would have endeavoured to divert several of their entries to Wanganui, stated the merchant. This had happened when there was previously an overflow on the South Auckland lists.
