PRAGUE, Nov 3.- Without Russia’s aid Czech Communists could not have seized power and set up a People’s Democracy, President. Gottwald told the nation in a broadcast address last night. He was launching a Soviet-Czech Friendship week. Gottwald said Stalin was Czechoslovakia’s best friend and teacher and comrade, and every patriotic Czech must sign a congratulatory letter to Stalin on his 70th birthday (December 21). Czechs must also learn Russian "to speed an understanding of Soviet culture.”
