THE LEVANTE SHOW

Headed by "The Great Levante." famous British magician and illusionist, who last toured New Zealand six years ago under the J. C. Williamson management, the Levante Show open their Wanganui season on Monday next in the most modern and up-to-date touring marquee theatre ever seen in this country. The theatre which will be located in Cook’s Gardens, is entirely waterproof, fireproof, and stormproof, and has a seating capacity of 1400, including 950 folding chairs. The Great Levante will present, among other illusions, the £lOOO trunk mystery and “the magic kettle,” from which members of the audience can have any drink they desire— beer, whisky, gin, rum, milk—all flow from the magic kettle. Overseas variety acts including Mlle. Paulette, known in London and Paris as “Lady of the Fans,” also presents her famous dance, T “The Golden Nude." Comedy is well supplied by Nat Hanley (English comedian at the piano) and Will Duffy (English trick cyclist). From U.S.A., Max Barry (ventriloquist), with Sam and Blondie, Marcia Farrar (contortionist), Bernard and Sonia (acrobats), ‘‘Protea'’ (the act beautt* ful), “Melba " (lady of hand shadow* Yvonne Carrier (the hill-billy kid*, Tom Richards (baritone), Doreen Udell (soprano), Maree Austin (sou« brette). Shirley Goldsmith and a ballet of Australian ladies, all contribute! acts which go to make The Levant* Show really great entertainment. BoX Plans are at the D.I.C.
