CLOSING DAY OF THE RANGITIKEI LADIES’ GOLF CLUB

Very pleasant weather conditions favoured the closing day of the Rangitikei Ladies’ Golf Club’s 1949 season last Thursday (October 27). A four-ball round was played and after afternoon tea the captain, Mrs. Dalrymple, presented the cups and trophies won during the season. Before doing so she congratulated the winners, in particular the new champion, Mrs. Bary, and the winner of the consolation flight, Mrs. Simpson, whose performance in reducing her handicap must constitute a club record. She had reduced an aggregate of fourteen strokes in six weeks. The list of trophy winners is as follows: Senior championship (Harris Cup), Mrs. Bary; junior championship (Hart Cup), Mrs. Whisker; Consolation flight (Mrs. Scott’s trophy), Mrs. Simpson.
