GUDSELL MAY NOT PLAY AGAIN ON RUGBY TOUR

Torn Ligament And The Leg Is In Plaster Advice has been received by the Wanganui Rugby Union, through the New Zealand Rugby Union, that Keith Gudsell, five-eighths in the All Black team in South Africa, has suffered a torn medial collateral ligament, and it has been found necessary to put the leg in plaster. Gudsell is able to travel with the team, however. The injured leg is to remain in

plaster for three weeks and by the time Gudsell is fit again the tour will either be over, or very nearly so. The injury he suffered was in the hard match against Transvaal on July 23, when, playing to an instruction to stop the New Zealand backs, the Transvaal defenders tackled with deadly firmness. Gudsell was off the field for a time to have an injury attended to.
