LONDON WOOL SALES Bank Of N.Z. Cable
The Bank of New Zealand, produce department, has received the following cable from its London office under date July 22. 1949:: “The wool sales have closed firm owing to increased competition. There is an active demand by Home and foreign buyers. Compared with the opening of the sales. New Zealand greasy fine crossbred wool is up to 5 per cent higher. Greasy medium crossbred prices are 5 per cent higher. Scoured crossbred very firm. Slipe half bred lambs and other lambs par. Blankets 5 per cent dearer. The following sale room prices for New Zealand greasy wool is quoted (prices are given in sterling without deduction for freight, expenses, etc.):
