Stock Wools Are Withdrawn At Auckland Crutching Sale
AUCKLAND, Last Night (PA).— The first Auckland wool sale was held today when 3975 bales of new season's crutchings and oddments were offered. Because of insufficient ships to lift the wool in reasonable time the growers’ wools, plus the stock wool which is was proposed to offer on behalf of the New Zealand Wool Disposal Commission, the commission decided, in the interests of growers- to withdraw these stock wools from the catalogue. Of the total offering approximately 95 per cent was sold to commercial buyers. The offering consisted mainly of crutchings with a proportion of early shorn wool which sold particularly well. There was a full and representative bench of buyers and competition for all wools was keen. Because insufficient grades of fleece were olIfered, it is not possible to supply quotations which would give a fair indication of the market. Prompt date for this sale wik- be Tuesday, August 30. The following is the official range of prices:— CRUTCHINGS rossbred— Good 18 to 20 i Average 15 to 17 k Inferior and seedy lli to 14i
