McAlpine (Opp. Selwyn), gave notice to ask the Minister of Health what steps she intends taking to cope with the problem of the loss ol highly qualified medical men who are leaving the hospital service because the remuneration is inadequate. Mr. McAlpin e said when the medical superintendent of the Buller Hospital resigned recently, Mr. W. H. Mclntyre, a member of the local hospital board, said the reason was that the Health Department would not pay sufficient salary.
