Rangitikei Hunt Club Prepares For Race Meeting In July

Preparations for the steeplechase meeting to be held on the Marton racecourse on Saturday, July 30, were advanced a further stage at a general meeting of the Rangitikei Hunt Club in Marton on Wednesday night. Votes of thanks were passed to Mr. E. 11. Duncan and Mr. Q. O. Wilson for the donation of trophies for the Hunt Cup and Ladies’ Bracelet respectively. The following officials were appointed: Judge, Mr. J. M. Pine (Hawera); starter, Mr. N. C. Trillo (Palmerston North): handicappei, Mr. E. V. Wilson (Palmerston North); commentator, Mr. K. McDonald (Wellington); timekeeper, Mr. M. G. Fisher (Marton); clerk of scales, Mr. W. C. Curtis (Wanganui); clerk of course, Mr. A. E. Goodwin (Marton); hon. surgeon, Dr. W. F. Bagot (Marton); veterinary practitioner, Mr. A. Seymour (Marton).' . The annual Hunt Club ball is to be held in the Mai ton Civic Theatre on Thursday, July 28. Messrs B. H. Cash, J. Lampp and G. J. Bull were appointed a ball committee, with ower to co-opt other members. Messrs F. H. Dexter, A. W. Trotter and F. M. Brice were appointed a point-to-point committee. The point-to-point steeplechases are to be held on Saturday, July 23.
