Saturday Morning Rugby For Schoolboys, The Response Encouraging

The success attending last Saturday morning’s Rugby for schoolboys at Spriggens Park was mentioned at last night’s meeting of the management committee of the Wanganui Rugby Union by Mr. W. Broadheau. He said all were amazed at the large and unexpected attendance of 240 players who were arranged into 16 teams. Mr. Broadhead said the question of jerseys and small goal posts would have to be gone into. He said several referees and members of different, clubs had assisted in the supervision. Mr. D. Beard stressed the need for more personnel for supervision, and also the need for the dressing room facilities under the stand for the boys. The need for the Rugby Union to assist in the provision of some jerseys was mentioned by Mr. Dixon. Mr. J. Moye said the Rugby Union would give the matters mentioned their attention and said the enthusiasm of the boys should be encouraged.
