Business Protection Association Approves Plan Of Campaign
WELLINGTON, April 21, (P.A.).— A general plan of campaign was approved at the first meeting of the newly elected Dominion executive of the New Zealand Business Protection Association states a supplied report. Mr. Norbert G. Foley oi Wellington, was elected Dominion President. It was reported that branches are being rapidly formed in all large and small centres throughout the Dominion, and various trade and professional organisations and associations were alii dating with the Protection Association, which would combine all interests into a powerful force. It was announced that the Minister of Labour (Mr. McLagan), would be invited to attend a public meeting at Wellington and “endeavour to explain the wide disparity between his statements in the Press and the facts obtained by the association from the Land Sales Committee." The statement added that steps are being taken to test the validity of actions taken'under section 19 of the Tenancy Act, and in conjunction with other interested organisations the position of returned servicemen was also being tested legally. The statement cited a case of a forced sale of business by an ex-serviceman, which it said presented “most disturbing features."
