Nelson Harbour Board To Pay New Insurance Premiums Under Protest

NELSON, Last Night (PA).—The Nelson Harbour Bara has decided to pay the new scale oi premiums for employers' insurance o£ workers under protest. It was stated that the premium for waterside workers had been increased from 60s per cent, to 140 s per cent., which would cost the board an additional £lOOO a year. The chairman, Mr. A. R. Kingsford, said the new premium gave,the same cover with the same 'office (State). He could not understand why watersiders were put on the same premium as an air crew. This State Office had provided the same cover at 60s per cent, in the past. Mr. J. H. Brunt said he could see no reason for the increase, especially as there was a State monopoly. It was resolved to pay under protest, the board to take action through the Harbour’s Association to make representations with a view to obtaining a rebate and adjustment on the ■oasis of previous charges.
