Progressive Pairs At The R.S.A. Green

A pairs progressive tournament was played on Easter Monday on the Wanganui Returned Sei vices green. Sixteen pairs enjoyed the ideal weather and excellent playing conditions. Five games were played, the winning skip beig F. Ansell, who beat W. Bourne in the play-off, each having won four games. Two leads, R. J. Bourne and P. M. Phelan, tied with five wins each, and on the play-off R. J. Bourne proved to be the winner. Next Saturday will be closing day, and all members are expected to be present at 1.45 p.m. for the final rollup of the 1948-49 season.
