Auckland Leads In Varsity Sports Tournament

WELLINGTON, Last Night (PA).— With only the finals of the tennis to be played, Auckland, with 26i points, have a lead of 14 points in the University tournament. They are followed by Otago 25, Canterbury 21T Victoria 18. Otago, with three finalists in the tennis, appear almost certain to win the tournament shield. After brilliant weather on Saturday for the preliminary events, dark skies in the morning boded ill for today's activities. However, after a fewshowers in the morning the weather held at overcast for the rest of the day and the schedule was completed. Tomorrow’s activities will be confined to the tennis finals,, a representative cricket match between Wellington and New Zealand University, and inter-island basketball, and the tournament ball in the evening, when “blues" will be awarded.
