Test Pilot Killed In Helicopter Crash

LONDON, April 17.—The chief test pilot for the Fairey Aviation Company, Mr Foster Dixon, aged 37, was killed today when the Fairey gyrodyne helicopter which he was flying crashed near Reading. His observer was also killed.

Mr Dixon, who was a specialist in helicopters would often let go the controls of the gyrodyne at 500 ft. in demonstrations and allow th’e machine to land itself. Mr Dixon used to move about the airfield on a bicycle to which he had fitted sails.
