U.S. GARRISON TO UNDERTAKE FULL-SCALE MANOEUVRES
BERLIN, April 18 (Rec 12.45 a.m.). —Practically the entire United States military garrison in Germany—7o,ooo iroops supported by air and naval units —will today take part in the 'argest United States military operai’ons since the war, says the British United Press. The British and American record airlift into Berlin last Saturday has accentuated rumours that the block- , ade is about to be lifted, says the ’ British United Press correspondent. : The latest report is that the former I Russian Ambassador to Germany, ' Vladimir Dekanosov, is in Berlin. Dekanosov is said to be working out | some method by which the blockade can be lifted without the Russians ' losing face.
