Farm Hand’s Body Found With A Rifle Alongside
AUCKLAND, Thursday (PA).—The body of a 19-year-old farmhand was found by his parents on their farm at Paparata, near Bombay, at 10.30 last night. A .22 rifle was found lying nearby. He was Charles Louis Outram Rogers, son of Mr. and Mrs G. J. S. Rogers. He and another youth, Alan Schumacher, were alone on the farm during the day. Both Mr. and Mrs. Rogers were in Auckland. Schumacher went to get the cows milked after having afternoon tea with deceased. He milked the herd alone, as Rogers did not come to the shed. t When he returned to the house about. 7 p.m. the parents were back, but there was no sign of their son. They searched and found the body near the homestead. The Pukekohe police were informed and a sergeant and a constable went to the farm today.
