EASTER HOLIDAYS

Shopping Hours In Wanganui Wanganui housewives will be faced with the task of providing provisions for the Easter holidays wnich extend from Good Friday until Tuesday morning. Late shopping night will be observed tonight (Thursday). The first postal delivery after the Easter week-end will be on the Tuesday, and there will be only a restricted postal service during the weekend. Banks, which will close on Thursday, will reopen for business on the following Wednesday. Chemists will observe holidays on Good Friday and Easter Monday. Except where essential services have to be maintained, factories will be closed the lour days. Law ofiices will close today and stay closed through the following week, reopening on Tuesday, April 26. There will be no tram services on Good Friday. Bakers.—Last baking of bread will be today. There will be no baking on Saturday. Baking will resume on Tuesday. Butchers.—Shops will close today at 4.30 p.m. and reopen on the following Tuesday morning. Grocers. —Late night (8.30 p.m.) will be observed today, after which shops will be closed until the following Tuesday. Greengrocers.—Shops will close at 9 p.m. today and open on the following Tuesday. Banks—Close today at the usual time and reopen on the following Wednesday. Chemists. —Shops will be closed all day on Good Friday and Monday. Post Oilice.—Usual Friday evening hours in the Post Office will be observed on Thursday evening. All branches will be dosed on Good Friday, except for the usual attendance in the telegraph branch. On Saturday there will be no postal delivery but the usual Saturday hours will be observed. Easter Sunday will be a normal Sunday. All postal branches will be closed on Easter Monday, and mails, air mails inclusive, will be closed at 7.30 a.m. for dispatch to principal offices throughout the Dominion.
