MR. W. BLAIR TENNENT AS NATIONAL CANDIDATE IN PALMERSTON NORTH
PALMERSTON NORTH, Last Night (PA).—Mr. W. Blair Tennent was tonight chosen National Party candidate to contest the Palmerston North seat at the general election. Six citizens offered themselvs for selection and a vigorous campaign, reminiscent of a general election, was carried on in the city for weeks past. Mr. Tennent, who is a dentist by profession, has taken a prominent part in public affairs for many years. He is at present chairman of the Wanganui Education Board, a past district governor of Rotary and a 'prominent member of the Heritage executive. He is in the prime of life and an excellent platform speaker.
