PLAY IN WANGANUI CROQUET TOURNAMENT INTERRUPTED BY RAIN
Play in the Wanganui Croquet Association’s annual tournament which opened on the Wanganui Club’s lawns St. John’s Hill, on Monday, was interrupted yesterday by rain. Some good games were played in the morning, but as the day advanced the weather deteriorated and from 2 p.m. onward no further play was possible. The tournament will be resumed at 9 a.m. today if the weather permits. The following are the results of yesterday’s play:— HANDICAP DOUBLES. First Life First round. Mrs. Marsh and Mrs. Casey beat Mr. Wilson and Miss Harper 26-18; Mrs. Hill and Mr. Peters beat Mrs. Knowles and Mrs. Gray 2617. HANDICAP SINGLES. Mrs. Phillips beat Mrs. Remington 26-1; Mrs. Bourgeois beat Mrs. Owles 1 26-11; Miss Litten beat Mrs. Downey ■26-19; Mrs. Harris beat Mr. Campbell 126-15; Mrs. McDougal beat Mrs. Trus- | sell 26-22. ■ WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP.
