There was an increase of £496.606 in the sterling holding of the Reserve Bank of Now Zealand in the week’s trading to January 26. the balance at that dale heing £43.434.431. tn the same period the note issue decreased £316.548 to £50.401,493. The assets and liabilities of the bank as al January 26. with the weekly averages of 1939 and 1919, were as follows:
