2000 Take Part In Procession, "Feast Of Christ The King"

In a remarkable profession of faith in the Kingship of Jesus Christ, about 2000 Catholics—men, women and children—joined in the solemn procession of the Blessed Sacrament in the grounds of the Sacred Heart Convent, St. John’s Hill, yesterday afternoon.

The procession was headed by a cross-bearer and acolytes, then followed children from the city and suburban convents, boys from the Marist Brothers School, the Marist Brothers, pupils from the Sacred Heart Consent, boys from St. Augustine’s H! o h School, Children of M,ary, Catholic nurses, the Sisters of St. Joseph, Sisters of Compassion, men of the Holy Name Society, and hundreds of parishioners, both men and women. A guard of honour for the Blessed Sacrament, carried under a gold canopy by the Rev. Father J. O’Connor, S.M., comprised members of the Hibernian Society. The vivid colourings, blue and

white, red and green, displayed by the girls and young wgmen ol the various sodalites, the insignia of the men and women of the various confraternities, each with a delicately embroidered banner, and the vestments of the clergy showed in picturesque relief against the softer natural shades of the trees and shrubs of the beautiful grounds. The celebration of the Feast of the Kingship of Christ has held in all '’arts of the world yesterday. It dates back to the time of Christ, and is a profesU.cn of faith of Catholics in Fls Kingship.

The most solemn part, came with Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament by Rev. Father J. O’Connor, from an artistically-decorated openair altar. After the blessing Father O’Connor read the "Act of Consecration of the Human Race to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.”
