Utiku Golf Club; Gordon Cup Contest

With ideal weather conditions prevailing the third and final medal i rounds of the Utiku Golf Club for the i Gordon Cup were played at the weekI end. i Highlight of the day’s play was a I score of 70 off the stick being leturned by Ben Somerville, this being I par for the course. The previous best J card returned for the course was one ! from J. C. Belk, with a 71. Winner of the Gordon Cup was D. Gorringe with a nett total of 199 for 3 rounds. I Runner-up: C. Galvin and B. Somerville with a nett 203 equal. The following memoers have had handicap reductions: —B. Somerville, I 7 to 4; D. Gorringe, 23 to 22; J. R. I Transom. 24 to 23. I The following are the results of the finals in the knockout competition played in both senior and junior grades. Senior: J. C. Belk beat E. Somerville 2 and 1. Junior: R. Rhodes beat ‘D. J. Gibbs 4 and 3. Belk will now play Rhodes over 36 holes for the knockout Cup. The annual President's v Captain s match will be played next Sunday. The draw for a mixed foursome will be made at the club house at 12.45 p.m. UTIKU LADIES CLUB. The following is a draw for a Stableford to be played bv September 19: Mrs. J. 11. Marshall and Mrs. D. Gorringe, Mrs. J. R. Transom and Mrs. W Thurston, Mrs. G. M. Transom and Miss G. Anderson. Mrs. Sherriff and Mrs Sullivan, Mrs C. H. Transom and Miss N. Gibbs. Mrs. Henery I and Mrs. H. A. Belk. Miss D. Belk and Mrs. L. Thomasen, Mrs. J. B. I'homasen and scorer, Mrs. C. Galvin and Mrs. D. Kiely. Mrs. D. Wilkie and Mrs. D. L. Gibbs, Mrs P. L. Marshall and Mrs. Rostern, Miss T.
