Possession Of Hotel At Waitara Granted To Plaintiffs

(P.A) New Plymouth, Sept 14 “It is not necessary for plaintiffs to provide other licensed premises for her,” says Mr. Justice Cornish in a reserved judgment granting possession of the Waitara Hotel to the Jessees, Arnot Crawford Leslie, of Auckland, and Herbert David Anderson Leslie, of Frankton, from Winifred Irene Wright widow,’ on or before October 10. The lessees of the hotel sub-leased the premises to Ballins Breweries. N.Z. Limited, and Ballins Breweries assigned its interest to Mrs. I. Wright. Plaintiffs demanded possession when Ballins Breweries term expires. Alternative living accommodation was offered by plaintiffs. The case, which was heard in the Supreme Court, New Plymouth, created wide interest in the industry.
