BALLET RAMBERT
SUCCESSFUL FINALE OF SEASON Saturday night_saw the conclusion of the season in Wanganui tor Ballet Rambert. The programme comprised Swan Lake; Death and the Maiden; Plaisance; and Peter and the Wolf. It is the junction of the Ballet to rejoice the young of heart and in this it was wholly successful on Saturday night. Swan Lake was the occasion for a brilliant success by Belinoa Wright as the Swan Princess, while Miro Zloch was equally successful as the Prince. In Death and the Maiden the overwhelming of youth by Death was dramatically portrayed, showing how unwillingly youth gives up life. Plaisance with a romantic Regency setting was true to its name and Peter the .Wolf was rendered from the standpoint of the child witness. Thus the audience went home’ to bed to forget the years between them and Cinderella and her kind. It was a delightful experience for all who have not yet lost their fairylands. The public appreciation expressed to the conductor, Mr. H. Foster Clark, was a well earned tribute to himself and to the members of his orchestra, whose playing was a major contribution to the success of the season.
