Subsidy For City Gas Undertaking Declined
An application made by the Wanganui City Council for a subsidy on the gas undertaking had been declined, stated the Gas Committee, in a report before the council at its monthly meeting last night.
The committee recommended, however, that the Price Tribunal he asked to reconsider its decision and that the question of further representations as may be necessary be left to the chairman (Cr. R. P. Andrews), the Mayor (Hon. W. J. Rogers), the town clerk (Mr. C R. White), the city treasurer (Mr. F. J. Best) and the engineer and manager (Mr. W. J. Stone). The report w as adopted.
