Paralysis Victim Dies At Auckland; Twelfth Since Outbreak
(P.A.) Auckland, Aug. 17. The twelfth death from infantile paralysis in the Central Auckland Health District since the outbreak of the epidemic occurred in the Auckland Hospital. The victim was a man aged 24, who was admitted from Epsom on Sunday. He had been in the “iron lung” since entering hospital. The new positive case reported in Auckland, is a 22-year-old man from Epsom, who was admitted on Sunday on another diagnosis. Five patients have been discharged from hospital, and the number of cases now in Auckland Hospital are 4G positive ind one suspect
The Health Department advises that the Otahuhu Primary School will reopen tomorrow. It was closed on August 9.
