Wanganui Mountain Club Members Visit Egmont And Ruapehu

Parties of Wanganui members of the Combined Mountain Clubs visited both Mt. Ruapehu and Mt. Egmont last week-end.

On arrival at Ruapehu cars were driven to the Salt Hut parking area, where there was good ski-ing snow. At Dawson Falls the snow was well above the bushline, and skiers had a long climb to the snow slopes. This year has been one of the poorest snow seasons for many years, and a heacy fall would be welcome by ski-ing enthusiasts.

Those in the Dawson Falls party were Misses E. Gibson, B. Gibson, -Allen, E. Ingram, Messrs F. Vickers, J. Willoughby. C. H. Dickenson, J. M. Garner. N. Washington, Coleman, R. Anderson, Pringle, T. O’Hara, A. Smart, A. L. Christie, and I. K. Cameron, the last named being the leader of the party.
