Havana Charter

Algie (Opp., Remuera) gave notice in the House of Representatives today to ask the Minister of Finance if he had been correctly reported as stating, in a public address in Wellington, that New Zealand had to make a special agreement not to frustrate the Havana Charter by exchange practices. Mr. Algie asked whether it was fair to conclude from such a statement that the adoption by New Zealand of the Geneva and Havana Agreements, together with the spec'al agreement re.errel to, would, for all practical purposes absolve Nev. Zealand from the necessity of any further consideration of the question of ratification of the Brotton Woods Agreement?
