•P.A.)) Hamilton. June 3(1 Two escaped prisoners, one of whom had been at liberty since April 1. were i recaptured in the Morrinsville district yesterday afternoon. Gordon Robert Edwards, a threequarter caste Maori, aged 33 years, vas taken into custody after a •truggle with Detective J. Hayes and Constable H. Lilly, of Hamilton, and • Constable L. Campagnolo, of Morrinsville. who traced him to r house at Springdale. Edwards escaped from the Waikune prison camp, near National Park. The other prisoner was also an ; escaoee from Waikune. Claude Cyril McGregor, aged. 27 years, who eluded warders at Frankton yesterday when . he jumped from the Wellington-Auck- • land express, on which he was being I taken from Waikune to Auckland. . He was arrested this morning by Conl stable Campagnolo.
