Parliament Bldgs, June 30 Authority for advances up to fourfifths of the security in real estate, to be made by the Government Lite Insurance Department to its own employees for the acquisition of dwellings. is contained in the Government Life Insurance Amendment Bill introduced and read the first time in the House of Representatives today. The Bill also empowers the department to acquire dwellings for the accommodation of its staff. “I hope I would be wrong if I were to assume this is a Bill to make life insurance a State monopoly” said the Leader of the Opposition (Mr. Holland) in asking for information about the Bill before it was explained to the House.
