OBITUARY SIR FRANCIS FRAZER

(P.A.) Wellington, May 11. The death occurred in a private hospital in Wellington tonight of Sir Francis Vernon Frazer, formerly judge of the Court of Arbitration and

more recently deputy chairman of the Executive Commission of Agriculture. He has been in failing health for some weeks and went into hospital toward the end of March. He was in his 68th. year.

The Hon. Sir Francis Frazer was born in Dunedin in 1880, and was educated at Nelson College, and Otago and Canterbury University Colleges. He was admitted barrister and solicitor in 1905 and was appointed a Stipendiary Magistrate in 1911. In 1920 Sir Francis Frazer was Assistant Public Service Commissioner and in the following year was elevated to a Judge of the Arbitration Court, and in 1928 was made a temporary Judge of the Supreme Court. He acted as chairman of many Commissions. He was knighted in 1935, and was the recipient of the Jubilee Medal in 1935 and the Coronation Medal in 1937.
