ANGRY LABOUR M.P.’S

REPLIES TO DISCIPLINARY MOVE BY EXECUTIVE

(N.Z.P.A.—Copyright.) Recd. 6.30 p.m. London, May 6. Angry criticism of the Labour Party’s national executive is contained in letters sent yesterday by a number of Labour members of the House of Commons who form the group of 21 members who signed the telegram wishing Signor Nenni, leader of the Italian pro-Communist left wing Socialists success in the Italian ejections, and they are in reply to to the executives’ demand that the signatories must, under threat of expulsion, to undertake by today to desist in future from such conduct. Most of the letters give the undertaking, but express bitter resentment at “unwarranted accusations,” and a determination to maintain a right to criticise.
