Wanganui Education Board Meets

The building of a residence for the head teacher of the Kakariki School came before the monthly meeting of the Wanganui Education Board yesterday, and the request was referred to the Building Committee for consideration.

The architect (Mr. L. S. Barsanti) reported on the inspection of a section at Taihape for a site for a house for the senior secondary assistant. It was decided to approach the department for authority to proceed with negotiations for the purchase of the site.

The board was informed by the architect that an expenditure of about £lOO would be involved in the elimination of drainage problems at the South Makirikiri School.

The.meeting was presided over by Mr. W. B. Tennent (Palmerston North), and there were present, Messrs. A. C. Gordon (Taihape), W. H. Brown (Palmerston North), I. W. Mudford (Foxton), J. C. Batt, W. G. Price, and E. R. Hodge (Wanganui), L. J. Carmine (Waituna West), and W. F. Johnston (Raurimu).
