CHILD DROWNED AT NAPIER
(P.A.) Napier, Feb 23. Falling uff the footbridge leading across the sea channel from Port Ahuriri to West Shore this afternoon, a four-year-old girl, Janice Ormond, was drowned. She had been playing with another girl aged three on the bridge. The first intimation of the tragedy was the return home alone of her companion .saying the girl had fallen into the water. The body was recovered two-an-a-half hours later on the island two hundred yards away in the harbour. The child had lived for the past two years with a grandparent, Mrs. A. Lewis, West Shore, The parents live at Mahia. ;
