WAR HISTORIES

■ CONFERENCE IN U.S.A. Auckland, Jan. 27. The chief war historian (MajorGeneral H. K. Kippenberger) will leave by the B.C.P.A. service from Auckland tomorrow to attend a conference of United States and British Commonwealth war historians called by the American Historical Department in Washington.

The object of the conference is to co-ordinate the war histories of the various nations and to arrange for interchange of information. A conference between the British Commonwealth war historians will be held in Washington following the main conference.

Major-General Kippenberger expects to be away from New Zealand for about a month.
